Waste Landfills Company Limited (WLCL), Zoomlion Ghana Limited and key stakeholders have renewed efforts to address concerns raised by residents of Adipa and neighbouring communities regarding waste disposal activities at the Adipa Engineered Landfill Site.
The engagement brought together traditional authorities, local government officials, community representatives and the Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, to discuss community concerns and identify practical solutions.
Speaking at the meeting, Zoomlion Ghana Limited CEO, Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong, acknowledged residents’ concerns and announced proposed interventions, including a health centre, a water project, community-wide fumigation, periodic health screening and scholarship opportunities for beneficiaries from the eight affected communities to study in Russia.

To strengthen accountability and sustain dialogue, a 17-member stakeholder committee was established, chaired by the Chief of Nsawam, Nana Kofi Sarh. The committee will support coordination and follow-up on the commitments made.
Stakeholders welcomed the engagement and emphasised the importance of community consultation, collaboration and effective implementation. Discussions also highlighted opportunities for waste treatment, resource recovery and local job creation.
WLCL recognises that responsible waste management extends beyond infrastructure to include meaningful community engagement and environmental responsibility. The company remains committed to constructive dialogue with host communities and stakeholders to advance practical, sustainable solutions that support community wellbeing.
Working together for cleaner communities and a more sustainable future.
