Waste Landfills Company Limited (WLCL) is a Ghanaian environmental services company specialising in landfill engineering, waste disposal, landfill operations, environmental management and sustainable waste infrastructure. Established in 2008, WLCL operates within the Jospong Group's integrated waste management ecosystem and provides technical and operational solutions for the safe management of solid waste, from the development and operation of disposal facilities to landfill closure, rehabilitation and post-closure management.

Conducts site selection, environmental impact assessments, feasibility studies, and secures regulatory permits.

DESIGN

Engineers the layout, liners, leachate collection systems, gas capture networks, and infrastructure.

BUILD

Constructs the physical cells, access roads, monitoring wells, and waste management facilities.

OPERATE

Step 4

Manages the daily intake, compaction, and daily covering of municipal or industrial solid waste.

MONITOR

Step 5

Tracks groundwater quality, air emissions, gas migration, and settlement to ensure environmental compliance.

Step 6

Caps and seals the full landfill permanently once it reaches maximum capacity to prevent exposure.

REHABILITATE

Step 7

Transforms the capped site into a safe, stable landscape for alternative uses (e.g., green spaces, solar farms).

RESTORE

Step 8

Returns the ecosystem to its natural state or integrates it permanently into the surrounding environment.
